1. Purpose of Tellerette packing

Tellerette packing has excellent features of mass and heat transfer efficiency for gas absorption, air conditioning, etc., it has been used as packing of high corrosion resistance and low pressure drop with extensive application for Gas Absorber, Cooling Tower, Deaerator, Reactor and other gas-liquid contact systems.

2. Performance

"TELLERETTE" originated from spiral shape of packing made of polyethylene under the license from Dr. Teller in the 1960s. Since then, we have developed and improved the production method by ourselves and the above kinds are available at present:

3. Characteristics

1) This form of packing is designed not to provide downward liquid flow with dead spots but large effective surface area per unit packing volume.

2) Excellent liquid distribution and uniformity are obtained, because of a large number of branching and junction, in addition to curve structure of the packing.

3) Reduction in pressure drop attained by filament-shape with large void space enables fans or blowers to require less electrical power (energy saving).

4) Packing made of synthetic resin means good chemical corrosion resistance and increased structural strength.

5) Light weight means easy handling to fill in and out.

4. Subject

  • Gas absorption: SO2, SO3, NH3, CO2, H2S, HCl, Cl2, HF, NOX, organic solvents

  • Gas stripping: NH3, CO2, O2, contaminated water by trihalomethane, water containing organic chlorine compound

  • Cooling: Air cooling (liquefaction) and water cooling

  • Chemical reaction: Black liquor oxidation and white liquor oxidation

  • Dehumidification: Air and water vapor in Cl2

Applications

  • H2SO4/Ammonium sulfate industry: SO2, SO3, NH3, Absorber, Scrubber

  • Soda industry: Chlorine drying tower

  • Iron & steel/coke industry: COG desulfurization tower, COG middle/light oil collector, gas cooling tower

  • Oxygen plant: Air cooling

  • Thermal power: Flue gas desulfurization

  • Chemical industry: H2S, HCl, Cl2, HF, NOX elimination, organic solvents recovery

  • Pulp industry: Black/white liquor oxidation

  • Water purification: Ammonium, trihalomethane, trichloroethylene stripping

  • Sewage treatment: Deodorization
